Nice

Our final destination was Nice.  It is on the Cote D'Azur, down on the Mediterranean.  We came down out of the hills and saw the beach.  We decided to drop off our rental car early and just get a taxi to our hotel so that we wouldn't have to deal with parking etc.  Our hotel was right on the Rue Des Anglais, it is the main road that runs along the coast from Nice to Monaco.  We had an excellent view out of our hotel window.  Unfortunately there was a fire in the hotel next to ours the night before we got there so the Internet, phones, etc were all down.  We found a little Crepe shop around the corner that had free wifi so we went and enjoyed some chocolate crepes and got online.  The major excitement happened when Matt lost our Credit Card.  We had to hurry and get online and cancel our Card before any French guys decided to go on a shopping spree.  We ended up having to take out of a bunch of Euros to pay for everything for the rest of the trip, but all things considered it wasn't too bad.  We really enjoy the beaches in Nice because instead of sand they have really really smooth stones on the beach.  I hate to get sand on my hands or feet so this is great for me!  The beaches are also very clean.

We walked down to the main touristy area of Nice for dinner and we got to pass the famous Negresco hotel.  One day we will have to stay there.  We also got to see a movie being filmed so that was kind of exciting!
