Lake Varner

We went to Lake Varner today with some friends. We played on the playground, played some softball, and went out on the lake in a canoo. It was so much fun.

Usually down here in Hotlanta you can't stand to leave your house in July and August because it is unbearably hot and humid. Today was in the low 80's and not humid at all. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to spend it outside. We had such a great time and Sophia only tried to drown herself in the lake once! For those of you who don't know, Sophia loves water but is clueless when it comes to the fact that we, as humans, need to breath air. She walked out into the lake untill the water was up to her waist and when we yelled at her to come back she just sat down so the water was above her head, she was just sitting there, eyes open. Our friend and I both grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out but she was completely unphased. She does the same thing in the pool. I guess we should just have her in a life jacket if we are within 20 feet of water.

Ruthless Bargain Hunter

A couple weeks ago I saw a bench in Target. It was on clearance 50% off. I liked it but it had a loos screw so Matt said we shouldn't get it since it was wobbly. We were back in Target a few days later, because it is physically impossible for us to go more than 3 days without a trip to Target, and the bench was still there but now it was 75% off. Matt said we could get it but we were in our Z4 so there was no possible way we would be able to get it home. I went back first thing in the morning with the truck and all the girls. There was a group of ladies all standing around "My Bench" arguing about who should get it. I went and found a Target employee and asked him to load it up with the table and two chairs and take it up front for me. Now before you think I am totally mean I did ask him if he would call around to the other stores nearby and see if they had any for the other ladies. So I ended up getting a complete set of patio furniture and all of the kids backpacks, lunch boxes, and school supplies for less than the bench originally cost!

All in all I am pretty impressed with my feistiness. I am usually not the type to go after something at the store if there are other people who want it.

So this pic isn't the greatest, but I didn't have another one of the new furniture. We totally love it!

Happy Birthday Matt

Matt had his birthday yesterday. This year was pretty uneventfull, we gave him a couple presents and just hung out. Oh well, maybe next year will be more spectacular :D

4th of July weekend

We were supposed to go out of town for the 4th but it didn't work out. Instead our nephew Jake and his wife Jessica came to visit us. We had a great time with them. We went to Stone Mountain on the 3rd and then on the 4th we played badminton (badly) and did some fireworks. The girls really enjoyed having their cousin come visit! I think the girls probably wore them out. Audry kept asking Jessica to carry her and hold her all weekend.
