My cutie pie Sophie

I had to post these pictures of Sophia I took today while we were working in the yard. She is so cute!!! She was so happy to be outside playing, she walked up and down the sidewalk at least 30 times. She swung on the swing set and she laughed and smiled all day. She was having so much fun and being so good she even skipped her nap to stay outside and play. She never got grumpy, even when it started to cool off and she was swinging. I went to get her out and she was shaking and purple. Guess it got colder than I thought. I brought her inside put her in her warmest pjs and gave her some warm milk. Hope she doesn't get sick....I know.....Mom of the Year!!!

Bowling

While in UT we went bowling with Grandpa Mueller and Margaret. We had a lot of fun and wished we could have spent more time visiting with them.

Brighton

The reason for our trip to UT was to take the girls skiing. Once we got there and Audry saw what snow is actually like she decided that she was too young to go skiing. We took Shelby and Amelia to Brighton Ski Resort and left Audry and Sophia with Grandma and Grandpa. Matt, Amelia, and I decided to snowboard, and Shelby wanted to ski so we rented our gear and Shelby and Amelia went to their lessons. I was a little bit terrified of the ski lift because the last time I went Snowboarding I never once made it off the lift without falling and hurting myself. Well imagine my surprise when I made it off the lift perfectly fine, I didn't fall or anything. I got all strapped back into the board and headed off down hill. I was going alright when all of a sudden I caught my front edge and my head smacked into the side of the mountain. I was a little dazed, but I got up brushed myself off and continued on down the slope. We got to a flat spot so I had to unstrap one foot and scoot my way along. I started going again, got going kind of fast. Decided I should snowboard "goofy foot" instead of regular because for some reason I can't do it the regular way without going off to the side, ok anyway I am rambling. So anyway, I caught my front edge a second time and yet again my head smacked into the side of the mountain, but this time after my head hit it stopped but the board and my feet continued on down hill. I was litterally head over heels, or heels over head I guess. I got the wind knocked out of me and really hurt my neck. So at this point I am thinking that maybe snowboarding is not for me. I should leave it to the cool people who make it look effortless. I made it down the mountain unstrapped my snowboard and got the kids from thier lessons. We all went to get some lunch, the girls loved their lessons and learned a lot. They had another lesson in the afternoon so we ate fast and then took them back. I went and traded in my board for some skis. Sane people don't strap themselves to one board I have decided, we strap ourselves to two :D
Matt loved snowboarding so he kept snowboarding and I went skiing. We had a great time. I love to ski! By the end of the day we were all exhausted so we turned in our gear and headed back down the canyon!

Front Runner

OK so UT is quite different from when we lived there. Jumping right on that environmentaly friendly, mass transit bandwagon. They have light rail, wich I think was actually there when we were, but now they also have commuter rail from Ogden to SLC. So, we were staying in Ogden and wanted to go to SLC to the planetarium. Matt's mom thought it would be fun for the girls to ride front runner, that is the name of the train. So we hopped on the train in Ogden, rode down to SLC, then got on TRAX, that is the name of the light rail. We made it to the planetarium at Gateway and got to watch a show about Saturn. It was a lot of fun. We all got a little motion sick from the movie, but it was really really interesting and we had a great time.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Ok so I am going to brag a little bit about my cute, smart, sweet, awesome daughters. We had parent teacher conferences this week at school. I didn't get to see Shelby's teacher because we couldn't get our schedules to coordinate. She sent home Shelby's work and some papers for me to sign. Shelby is doing amazing. She is in Quest this year, that is the gifted program here in GA. She is a very very smart girl. She is reading at least 4 grade levels above where she needs to be. Her teacher said that as soon as a subject is introduced she cathces on within minutes. She said that she is also a very big help in class, she helps the other kids if they don't understand something and she is very nice about it. I felt so proud of Shelby that she can be such a great student and such a great friend to the kids in her class.

I did get a chance to visit with Amelia's teacher today. She told us that Amelia is also very advanced for her grade. She picked up reading right away and is now reading through all the books in the house. She scored very high on all of her standardized tests and her teacher wants to submit her name to be concidered for Quest as well. She also said that Amelia is friends with every kid in class. She doesn't care who it is, she will share and play and help anyone. She is so happy all of the time and is always singing songs and talking about Star Wars! Her teacher commented on her contagious giggle. You can imagine we get our fill of the giggling with 4 girls, but it is very contagious!!! Today she was chosen by class mates to be the Valentines day Queen. She got to have an extra cupcake and wear a crown! She was so excited about it, and I thought it was so sweet that her classmates chose her. She is such a sweet girl. She must have gotten that from Matt, I was always shy in school and would definitely never have been singled out for being friendly!!!

Audry is in Preschool this year and she loves it! It is always hard to tell what is really going on at school when Im not there. It is hard to believe everything that Audry tells me and I have found that 4 year olds don't really have a good grasp on reality :D But she has made a lot of friends and is currently trying to learn all of her letters and numbers. She has started trying to tell time. I am so glad that she has the opportunity to be in preschool, but I sure do miss my shopping buddy durring the day.

Sophia is as sweet as ever, she thinks that she can talk, and she talks, and talks, and talks. She smiles and waves at everyone and wont stop untill they wave back. She woke up last night in the middle of the night and screamed at the top of her lungs for three hours. I had no idea what was wrong so this morning I took her to the pediatricians office. She has an ear infection in both ears. Apparently the left ear is pretty bad so we decided to postpone our trip to UT a couple days to give her time to get better. I do not want to try flying with a sick baby!

Ok well I am done bragging about my great girls for now! Hope I haven't made any of you too jealous ;)

100th day of school

In Kindergarten numbers are a huge deal, anything they can do to integrate learning how to count into their day they do. So on the 100th day of school the kids all had to count to 100. They had to bring a bag with 100 things for them to count, they had to wear 100 things on their clothes, like stickers, or buttons or something. Amelia decided to have 100 ponytails in her hair. I thought this was a good idea untill we started doing it. Oh my goodness, it took forever and ever and ever, then when it was all done I realized that it might be taken as offensive. Where we live there are a lot of African American people and I totally didn't want them to think we were trying to make fun of their "interesting" hair dos. Well I sent her to school anyway.
