Audry was the October student of the month at school. Her teachers said she is a sweet girl, she is very well behaved, and she loves to sing and dance in class!
Today I got to go on a field trip with Audry to Dauset Trails. It is kind of like a little zoo/nature preserve. It was a lot of fun. At lunch we got swarmed by about 30 yellow jackets. Apparently they are very fond of peanut butter and the cafeteria had supplied all the kids with PBJ for their lunches! The kids weren't even phased by them, the adults were all running around like crazy people trying to make sure no kids got stung. When it was time to get back on the bus some of the yellow jackets followed us. A little boy was trying to smash one of them and just ended up making it angry. I was trying to keep the kids in my row from being stung and ended up being stung myself. I don't know if one thing has to do with the other but on the long bus drive home after being stung, I got the worst migraine I have ever had. I still have it, but hopefully it will be gone by tomorrow.
It was a lot of fun to get to see Audry with her school friends, she is so sweet and seems to get along with everyone. Her teachers all commented on her unique sense of style. She likes to dress herself and she always picks out really interesting clothes combinations. All in all it was a fun day and I was excited to have that time to spend with Audry.
My friend Debra made these cute witches shoes filled with candy. I thought it was the cutest idea! The girls gave some to their teachers for Halloween. They are just made out of construction paper, and filled with candy.
We carved our pumpkins like Star Wars characters this year. Poor Amelia had a 104 fever and a really bad soar throat, she wasn't very into carving her pumpkin. I am going to take her to the Dr. tomorrow! Well anyway here are some pics of the super fun pumpkin carving!
Shelby was asked to be on the competition team at dance. She is very excited! She gets to do some extra performances and also participate in two competitions. I guess this means even more time spent at the dance studio....oh well at least my kids are interested in something that I like too!
Yesterday I had a primary presidency meeting. You know how it goes, there is a lot to discuss and perhaps you aren't watching your child quite as closely as you should. Oh well at least they were washable markers :D
We have fall break next week, and they also had yesterday off. I have Matt home too since he is not able to go back to work yet after his surgery. I was trying to come up with some ideas to keep the kids busy so we went to Hobby Lobby and each kid picked out a craft project to do. Amelia and Audry finished theirs, Shelby isn't done yet but I will post pics of hers once she is finished. Amelia made a hat for Matt, and also a purse. Audry made a purse.
Audry wanted to be a Musketeer/Ballerina for Halloween. This is her costume. It isn't quite finished yet but Hobby Lobby is out of the trim I need to finish it. Hopefully they get more in before Halloween.
I am not sure this costume turned out as cute as I wanted it to or as cute as I thought it would be in my head, but I couldn't find a pattern for the hat. Oh well, I think Sophia hates it today, but yesterday she had so much fun running around and hearing the bells jingle.
