Sophia

Sophie is totally doing the terrible two thing hard and heavy.  I sometimes feel like I might lose my mind, especially on those days when she decided to not take a nap even though she woke up at 6:30 in the morning.  In spite of all of this she is sometimes completely hilarious.  So in an attempt to look at my daughter and see a funny, sweet, and cute 2 year old, and not a raging brat who gets into and breaks everything, I thought I would share with all of you some of the hilarious things she has said to me in the last couple weeks.

1) While we were at dance and she was trying on her costume for her recital she said, "I cute my tartard, my tutu, my crap shoes"  What she meant, I assume, was that she looked cute in her leotard, her tutu, and her tap shoes :)
2) While looking at a picture of herself on my iphone she said, "MEAN BABY, my shirt!"  She is unaware of what she actually looks like and how old she is.  I assume she is under the impression that she is much much older, like 7 or 8.  Whenever she sees video or a picture of herself she gets mad that the mean baby is wearing her stuff!
3) She took Amelia's ipod and had the head phones in her ears, she was dancing all over the kitchen singing Yu Yu Yu Yuda as loud as she possible could.  I think she must have been listening to some Wierd Al!
4) And here is the last one I can think of right now, even though I am sure there are a million other funny things she does, I just can't think of them right now.  When she wakes up instead of crying she just shouts as loud as possible, "Mom!  Mom!  I'm done!"
Well seeing as she just climbed up on the counter and probably called North Korea on my phone, I better go!

Dance 101

Shelby got me a giftcard for a dance studio in Atlanta.  It is called Dance 101 and is now officially one of my favorite places in Atlanta.  I went today with my friend Cecily.  They had a deal if you took two classes then you could get a third free in the same day.  We decided to go for it, we took a jazz class, then had a break for lunch and took a yoga class and a ballet class in the afternoon.  I had such a great time.  I am sure I will be feeling it tomorrow, but today I felt great.  All those workouts left me feeling incredibly flexible and happy and bouncy.  :)  It was soo much fun!  I can't wait to go back and use up the rest of my giftcard.  If only it were closer I would make it a weekly habbit!

MLKJ Day

Well we were so super excited to spend our long weekend doing some community service and also taking a trip up to MN to visit some family.  Friday started out well, we took Shelby and Amelia out of school to go do some service at an elementary school in ATL.  We did it for the charity called Sustaining Urban Villages.  Now before you think, wow they are so awesome and they are teaching their children to be great people, you should know that we were doing it so we could get a free day at Disney : ) Anyway the project was actually a lot of fun, we helped make some walking trails and an outdoor classroom.  Mostly we just picked up logs, and branches and trash etc.  We headed home packed our bags and waited for Audry to come home from school.  That night Amelia was up all night sick and so we called first thing in the morning to let everyone know we weren't coming.  I hated having to do that because I felt like we weren't following through on something we said we were going to do, and that is totally a pet pieve of mine.  It was good that we didn't go though because then Audry got sick and on Sunday Matt and I were sick all day.  Monday Shelby got sick and she stayed home from school today.  Fingers crossed everyone will be back at school tomorrow and we will all feel fabulous!!!  Stomach viruses are just super fantastic don't you think?

Poor Girl Shopping Spree

I have two friends that have January birthdays too so we decided that we should all go out and celebrate!  One of my friends is super creative and she came up with the idea to do a poor girls shopping spree.  We had a list of stores we were allowed to shop at and what we were allowed to buy from each store.  Our outfit had to include a top, bottom, shoes, and accesories.  The entire outfit had to be less than $100.There were prizes for cutest outfit, best deal on one piece, best deal on the complete outfit, and the most points. The points were awarded based on how much money each item cost. It was super fun and best of all we had super fabulous outfits to wear to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner! I definitely reccomend the red velvet cheesecake-best thing I have ever tasted YUM!!!

Snow Day

We had some "Foul Weather" as the kids school likes to call it.  School was cancelled on Friday due to the severe weather : )   By severe weather I mean cold temps and a light dusting of snow.  I of course find it all very amusing! The girls came down around 6:30 am and wanted to go play in the snow. I made them wait untill 9!
