strep

Last Saturday night Shelby and I started to have a soar throat. Sunday we went to church but Matt and the kids left early because Shelby was starting to feel really sick. When I got home from church I started to feel pretty sick too so we all just kind of layed around and didn't do much. I took my temperature Sunday night and it was 103. So first thing Monday morning I made appointments at the doctor for Shelby and I. She tested possitive for strep and so did I. I haven't been that sick in a really long time. Shelby stayed home from school Monday and Tuesday, but said she was feeling better Wednesday so she went back. I guess she wasn't really feeling better, she just wanted to go to school. I was still feeling awful so I wasn't really paying that close of attention and just took her word for it that she was feeling better. Apparenty Wednesday and Thursday she didn't eat any of her lunch at school. Thursday night I noticed she wasn't looking very good and she wouldn't eat anything. Thursday night she threw up all night. I took her to the doctor again this morning and she was still very sick and she was very dehydrated so I had to take her straight to the children's hospital in ATL. I had Sophia with me so I dropped her off at work with Matt and headed up to the hospital, my GPS to us to some random house in ATL so then I had to just use my brilliantness :D to figure out how to get there. We eventually found it and got checked in. Shelby had to get poked a lot of times because she was so dehydrated they couldn't get an IV in. It was a very eventful day, but we are home now and she is resting and feeling a little bit better. I don't have any pictures for this post because when I tried to take one of Shelby she asked me not to. She was so brave and sweet I decided not to torture her by taking her picture and posting it online. She hates having stuff about her on here, she says it is so embarassing :D
