My dad was here visiting almost the whole month of July.  We had a great time while he was here.  We got to go to six flags, and we went to the park and some other fun places around here.  In addition to all the fun, he got a lot of projects done around here in the house and yard.  It sure would be nice if we had parents living nearby.  Isn't it nice how Dad's just seem to know how to fix all sorts of things.

While he was here we stained the swingset, stained the fence, put mulch and pine straw down, and cleared the woods (which resulted in hundreds of chigger bites.  This was our first experience with these little delights and I hope it was our last.)

He also replaced a few places that had dry rot on the back door and the front porch and then repainted all the wood trim outside.

He also painted Shelby's room, put up some shelves, put up crown molding in the girls' bathroom,  fixed a few toilets, and....

...worked with Matt to build a super awesome secret passageway between Audry and Amelia's rooms.  It looks like a little Tikki bar, but sadly I don't have any pictures.  I will have to take one and then post it on here.
Well we had a really great time and were all sad when Grandpa had to leave to go visit Amy, Riley, and Lola in MI  :(
