Puerto Rico

The girls didn't have school Friday and they got out early on Thursday so we decided to go to the beach. We flew down to San Juan, Puerto Rico on Thursday evening. We stayed at the Wyndham Rio Mar resort, it was really nice. We got to play in the ocean and swim in the pool. The kids had a great time. Matt and I had a good time in the ocean and the pools, but we absolutely hate the San Juan airport!!! It is very crowded and very chaotic. There is a casino and a hotel attached to the airport. They stack all the luggage in a big pile. I am surprised that our luggage made it on the flight with us. We made it to security without too much trouble but then they didn't want to let us bring Sophia with us. They said she needed a boarding pass so we told them that she is a baby and thus does not need a boarding pass. They said well then it needs to say on our boarding pass that we have an infant. Well we fly standby and do not have actual boarding passes so there is no mention of a baby on the piece of paper that we have to get through security. We were trying to explain this to the security lady and she asked us how they were supposed to know we didn't kidnapp her. She said, " We don't want people kidnapping babies and trying to take them back into the US" I told her we had her birth certificate but she said that is not good enough it has to be on the boarding pass, so again I told her we don't have boarding passes. I finally walked off to put my shoes back on and Matt discussed it with a manager. Finally we were able to bring our daughter through security with us. We got on the plane and flew home, I have never been so happy to get out of an airport as I was to get out of San Juan :D

Oh my gosh! I've been through my share of airport, and airplane hassles, but seriously, a birth certificate not good enough for proof? That's insane. I'm so glad that you got to take your daughter home with you too! What a fun time for you guys to have though!

I guess its one of the perks of working for Delta! It is just what we do in our spare time. We are lucky, we would for sure never travel if we had to buy plane tickets for our whole family.
